Rainbow Sunset

I loved the clouds reflecting so many colors of the sunset in the picture I took. Somehow my painting doesn't really capture them quite as powerfully, but I thought I'd give it a go!

On the Road

When I don't paint for a while, I always like to start off with a familiar scene. I'm chicken like that. This one is a bit bright, but we really do see some skies like this out here. When we're not socked in with haze, that is. Hoping to have this one dry and listed in my shop by the end of the week.

New Tags + hello

I've been away from home (and the easel) for a little bit.  Sometimes it's nice to take a break, be with family and celebrate life. I wanted to share these little tags from UPrinting that I won on my friend Amy's blog. While I am now realizing I should have made my fonts bigger, I still love them! Thanks so much Amy and Uprinting. They will add a little flair my wrapping job on sold paintings. I have 500 of them. That's a lot of paintings. I gotta get to work!

If you're in Davis tonight, stop by the Open Door Art Studios Open House. We have hung some really beautiful pieces (if I do say so myself!) and have information on obtaining a studio with our association. Wine, snacks and fun people. Please come and say hello!

Red-sided Barn

When taking reference shots, I loved that only one side of this barn was painted red.

Adrift

Friday's event was a lot of fun. I can easily picture myself in a studio in Downtown Davis painting alongside some really wonderful artists. Fingers crossed this happens! I'm getting out the brushes and hoping to keep painting every day this week. Spring Break was fun..camping in the Redwoods, visiting the Coast..but now it's back to work!
